Some Brazilian expressions I think the whole world should adopt:

Brazilian Portuguese - English

1) Mano do céu - Bro from the sky

We don’t call God, we call our bro from the sky. This expression used mostly on the southeast part of the country in the state of São Paulo.

2) Cagando e andando - Shitting and walking

When you really don’t give a shit about something or someone you are shitting and walking.

3) Melzinho na chupeta - Honey in the pacifier

When something is really easy, it’s melzinho na chupeta.

4) Pica das galáxias - Dick of the galaxies

When someone is the best at something, they’re are the pica das galáxias.

5) Ficar puto(a)/Estar puto(a) - To become bitch/To be bitch

When you’re very angry at something or someone you fica puto(a).

6) Ficar pistola/Estar pistola - To become gun/To be gun

“Clean” version of ficar puto(a)/estar puto(a), means the same thing.

7) Ficar puto(a) das calças - To become bitch of the pants

More intense version of “ficar puto”.

8) Não fode - Don’t fuck

When someone is screwing you over, making your life more complicated, you tell them “não fode”.

9) Grandes bosta - Big shits

What you call something or someone who doesn’t mean anything to you or you think lowly of it/them.

10) O que é um peido pra quem tá cagado? - What is a fart for someone who’s already shitted?

Basically this means that if you’re already in a really bad situation, then one more bad decision or another bad situation won’t make much of a difference.

11) Teu cu - Your asshole

You can use it to dismiss something someone said (usually an insult or something absurd), it’s also the rude version of saying “no, you are” and a lowkey “fuck you” to person you’re saying this to.

“You’re a piece of shit”

“Teu cu”

12) É de cair o cu da bunda - Makes your asshole fall from your butt

When something’s really great or incredible or unbeliavable, it makes your asshole fall from your butt.

13) E o(s) caralho a quatro - And the cock(s) to four

Same meaning as etc, but more creative.

14) Ficar com o cu na mão - To be with an asshole in your hand

When you’re really scared, got caught up in a lie, or are very nervous, you’re with your asshole in your hand.

15) Metralhadora de bosta - Machine gun of shit

When someone says a lot of shit, you call them a machine gun of shit. Examples: Donald Trump and Jair Bolsonaro are both machine guns of shit.

16) Na casa do caralho - At the cock’s house

When something’s really far away, it’s na casa do caralho.

17) Fogo no rabo - Fire in the tail (ass)

When you’re horny, you have fogo no rabo.

18) Meter o louco - Put in the crazy

When you go off at someone, when you’re really pissed off at them and insult them a lot. Usually the person “putting in the crazy”, is yelling or ha raised their voice.

19) Manjar dos paranauê - To know the paranauê

To have street smarts, basically. It means you get how things work out.

20) Tchatchaca na butchaca - Frickle frackle (kinda)

Euphemism for sex. “Butchaca” means pussy, so it’s more specifically to go down in a pussy.

*Keep in mind that I’m from the Southeast of Brazil so many of these expressions may have a different meaning somewhere else in the country, but these meanings are the most common ones.
